A professional jeweller examining the jewellery by eye or under a standard loupe will not be able to distinguish our simulated lab-grown diamond from a mined gem. Laboratory testing equipment designed specifically for this purpose can detect the difference, but your friends, family, and casual observers cannot. Simulated diamonds are non-mined gems with similar optical and physical characteristics to diamonds, but with their own unique molecular make up and chemical composition. Each gem is cut, polished and crafted under the most stringent criteria of colour, quality, size, and shape, resulting in gems with the brilliance, fire and lustre usually seen only in rare, top-grade diamonds. There are several types of simulated diamonds on the market today including moissanite, cubic zirconia, white sapphire, clear quartz, crystal. Like their mined diamond counterparts, these gems vary in quality, consistency and price - but not all simulated gems achieve the authentic look and feel of natural mined diamonds, because not only does the gem need to look like a diamond, but it must also compare favourably to mined diamonds in terms of the “four C’s” that gemmologists use to grade mined diamonds.

Simulated diamonds should not be confused with synthetic diamonds, which are laboratory created but have the same chemical characteristics as mined diamonds. These gems have been used for many years for industrial purposes and only more recently have they entered the jewellery arena. They are generally only slightly less expensive than their mined counterparts, and often contain flaws and inclusions which, in our opinion, makes them less appealing than top-quality simulated diamonds like Tru-Diamonds™.

But, in the unlikely event that any of your gems get damaged or dislodged from their mountings, we’ll replace your jewellery piece with a brand new one for a nominal fee of 15% of its regular Retail Selling Price (RSP) at the time of replacement and we’ll ship it to you free inside the UK. Settings: Tru-Diamonds™ settings can last a lifetime with proper care, but contact with lotions, creams, perfume, detergents, grit, dirt, etc. can have an impact on the longevity of your setting. So, if your setting does become worn or tarnished, we’ll replace your jewellery piece with a brand new one for just 15% of our regular Retail Selling Price (RSP) at the time of replacement and we’ll ship it to you free inside the UK.
